Leslie Bruning is a sculptor and fabricator whose work is represented in collections across the country. A founding member of Hot Shops Art Center, he has created more than forty public art commissions and is a passionate advocate for the power of art in public spaces.
Local artists will bring these benches to life with original designs that celebrate creativity, culture and community.
The “Wall of Nines” is a tribute to La Vista’s very first neighborhood, known as the House of Nines.
When La Vista was founded, homes were built for $9,999 with $9 down and $99 a month. The repeating Roman numeral IX is integrated throughout Nines Plaza as a lasting reminder of the unique beginnings and the resourcefulness of our community.
The Blue Star Memorial in Central Park East, honors the life and legacy of Michael Patrick Crawford Sr. Mike was a champion for our veterans and the driving force behind creating this place of remembrance, gratitude and quiet reflection for all who visit.
His dedication ensures that the courage and sacrifice of our veterans, and the families who stand beside them, are never forgotten.
