Major business closures along 84th Street created an opportunity to rethink the future of the corridor between Harrison and Giles. Following years of planning and gathering community input, the City of La Vista adopted Vision 84 in 2010, establishing a long-term framework for redevelopment and a new mixed-use downtown.
Building on that foundation, the City partnered with City Ventures, now Placemaker Properties, around a shared commitment to thoughtful investment and purposeful community development. Planning for City Centre began in 2015, with initial site work underway in 2016, turning that shared vision into a place for people to live, work, gather and connect.
Today, that shared vision is La Vista City Centre; a 34-acre mixed-use district where living, dining, shopping, entertainment and work come together. From The Astro and community events to restaurants, retailers, workplaces, parks and onsite living, the district creates year-round activity and everyday opportunities to experience the heart of La Vista.
